![]() ![]() Excellente's metal loading made a big difference because the Showster has the thinest body of any of my guitars but the best sustain next to my LP. Of course, my Gibson Les Paul had the best sustain but the Showster came in second followed by my Doubleneck. Years ago I timed the sustain on all my guitars. The Showster has best sustain hands down. Excellent Pups in this baby.Īnd yes the 422 Stock comes in 3rd, but not bad for a guitar that I only paid $170 for new. I wish that Gibson would re-issue the Showster but I doubt that it will ever happen. I am a SuperStrat fan and the Showster has the best overall SuperStrat sound probably because it has single coils but I think Excellente was on to something with the metal loading. The best sound is the Showster hands down. I did not include my 422 Evo in the mix and I only evaluated in the middle position because I wanted the comparision to be of the overall balance of all the PUPs. To be 100% Objective, I did a comparision of all my Kramers: The Gibson/Kramer rails may not be quite as good as the aforementioned but they are pretty damn close. I have a variety of Gibson, Duncan & Dimarzios installed in my guitars. Don't be fooled by the BS about the Quad Rails & Dual Rails not being good. ![]() Not true the FRs on the 422s stay in tune as well as the originals. Don't be fooled by the BS about the Licensed Floyd Roses not being as good as the originals. The Gibson/Kramers are every bit as good as the originals. I have owned 80s Kramers so I have a basis of comparison. I just wanted to Check-in after 10+ years of ownKramer FR422's and say that they are great guitars. ![]()
